The Boots of the UEFA Champions League Final

Only two days left until the UEFA Champions League final between Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund in Wembley. Footy Headlines takes a closer look on the boots worn in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday. From the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX Boot to the complete new Nitrocharge boot range we will give an overview about the boots worn in the most important match of the season. Let's beginn with the latest boots from adidas (picture by adidas, Nike and Unisportstore.com).

Philipp Lahm: Adidas Adipure Black / Orange / White

After several former adidas Adipure players like his teammate Manuel Neuer, Neven Subotic and Julian Schieber (both from Borussia Dortmund) switched to the complete new adidas Nitrocharge series Philip Lahm will be the only player to wear the adidas Adipure Boot in the UEFA Champions League Final.

We are not sure if Philip Lahm will wear the new adidas Adipure Black / Hi-res Orange / White colorway but it's likely he will switch to the latest colorway released by adidas this monday.

Alaba, Robben, Schweinsteiger, Pizarro, van Buyten: Adidas Adizero Infrared

The adidas Adizero III Infrared Boot will worn mostly by Bayern München players. Bastian Schweinsteiger, who switched to the Adizero Boot last year, the dutch player Arjen Robben and David Alaba will likely start saturdays game against Dortmund and wear the new Adizero Infrared Boot colorway.

Van Buyten and David Pizaro will not be in the starting lineup but also wear the adidas Adizero Boot which is designed for speed. Even players like Bastian Schweinsteiger and Daniel van Buyten are not known for being very fast players they both wear the Adizero Boot. Not very popular Dortmund player like Leonardo Bittencourt also wear the Adizero Boot but likely won't play a role in the match.

Hummels, Thomas Müller, Leitner: Adidas Predator LZ II

Adidas released the next-generation of the Predator Lethal Zones Boot last week. Mats Hummel who got injured last week against Hoffenheim is supposed to play against Bayern will wear the Adidas Predator Lethal Zones II Boot as well as Dortmund player Moritz Leitner.

Also Thomas Müller who scored eight goals this Cl season will wear the adidas Predator LZ II Boot in the Wembley UEFA CL Final. The Adidas Predator LZ II Boot is designed for perfect ball control and also worn by Xavi and Mesut Özil.

Neuer, Martinez, Subotic, Sven Bender, Schieber, Kehl: Adidas Nitrocharge

Adidas released the complete new Nitrocharge series last week and many players from both finalists will wear the boot in the UEFA Champions League Final.

Bayern München goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (we still don't understand how a goalkeeper can be identified as The Engine even if Neuer is known to leave his box often), the box-to-box midfielder Javi Martinez and Tymoshchuk who will leave Bayern at the end of the season.

The boot face Sven Bender, Neven Subotic, Julian Schieber and Sebastian Kehl are the players from Borussia Dortmund to wear the Nitrocharge Boot in Blue / Electricity in the Wembley UEFA Champions League Final. Especially Sven Bender is the typical box-to-box midfielder and was chosen by adidas to becomes one of the main boot faces. Bender, Subotic and Schieber switched from the Adipure boot to the new Nitrocharge series.

Gündoğan, Santana, Rafinha: Nike CTR360 Maestri III

Ilkay Gündoğan will be the only player in the starting lineup from both teams to wear the Nike CTR Maestri III Boot in the UEFA Champions League Final. Also Santana and Bayern München player Rafinha will wear the fresh Mint Nike CTR Maestri III Boot.

Ribery, Luiz Gustavo, Mandžukić, Shaqiri, Błaszczykowski, Piszczek, Schmelzer, Grosskreutz: Nike Mercurial Vapor IX

The Nike Mercurial Vapor IX Neptune Blue / Volt / Pink Boot will be worn by several players in the UEFA Champions League Final. Bayern München starter Ribery will wear the Mercurial Vapor IX Boot as well as his teammates Mario Mandžukić and Luiz Gustavo. Franck Ribery and Mario Mandžukić who moved from VfL Wolfsburg to Bayern München last summer are very important players of Bayern München and will both start the match in their Nike Mercurial Vapor Boots designed to enhance speed.

Normally one of Dortmunds star players, Mario Götze who will move to Bayern next season would also wear the Mercurial Vapor Boot but got again injured this week and won't be able to play the Wembley Champions League Final. But three or four Dortmund players who will start the match will play in Mercurial Boots. Their leftback Marcel Schmelzer and their rightback Lukas Piszczek as well as the right midfielder Kuba and Kevin Grosskreutz start the match in Mercurial Vapor boots.

Jerome Boateng, Gomez, Starke: Nike Tiempo Legend IV

The Nike Tiempo IV Sunburst colorway will be worn by Bayern München player Jerome Boateng who is supposed to start the game. The Nike Tiempo IV Boot is also worn by Mario Gomez and Tom Starke.

The Nike Tiempo IV Boot is the classical boot by Nike made from leather.

Lewandowski, Sahin: Nike Total 90

The Nike Total 90 Mango Boot will be worn only by Dortmund players. The polish forward Robert Lewandowski and the Nuri Sahin both will play in Total 90 Boots. Robert Lewandowski who scored 10 goals in this Champions League season uses the last Nike Total 90 which will be replaced by the Nike Hypervenom Boot.

Dante: Puma King FG metallic white / high risk red / black

The latest Puma King boot colorway was presented yesterday and will be worn by Bayern München player Dante in the UEFA Champions League final. The brazilian defender moved from Borussia Mönchengladbach to Bayern München last summer and won the league title in the first year at the club and got a solid part of the best Bundesliga defence in history only conceding 18 goals in 34 matches.

Dante got one face of the Puma King boot together with Yaya Toure of Manchester City. Puma King Boot combines modern technologies and a classy design.

Weidenfeller, Marco Reus: Puma Powercat

Roman Weidenfeller and Dante will wear the latest Puma Powercat colorway in black / fluo yellow / brilliant blue colorway in the UEFA Champions League final. Marco Reus moved last summer like Dante from Borussia Mönchengladbach to Dortmund who finished second in the 2013-13 Bundesliga campaign. The Puma Powercat Boot is designed for maximum power and also worn by Cesc Fabregas.

No player will wear the new evoSPEED 1.2 Boot colorway in the Champions League Final after Bayern Munich player Mario Gomez switched to the Tiempo boot in January.
