Atlético Madrid to wear Sock Advertising - La Liga Sock Sponsor Deal
Reigning La Liga champions Atlético Madrid and LFP announced a new sock sponsorship agreement with 'Sockatyes' last Wednesday. Atlético Madrid will become the first La Liga team to wear the striking sponsor on their players' socks.
As part of the sock sponsor deal, the Chinese football accessories company will supply more than twenty Spanish clubs with elastic advertising straps to be worn on their socks.
La Liga Sock Advertising Deal
Several Spanish clubs will sport a sock advertising from October 2014.
The new LFP and Sockatyes Agreement includes 13 La Liga teams and 11 Liga Adelante clubs. The sock sponsorship agreement of the Chinese company Sockatyes and LFP was signed for the next two season until 2016.
Sockatyes elastic straps are designed to improve blood circulation and prevent injuries to the players. Atlético will be the first team to wear the new sock sponsorship in the next La Liga match against Espanyol on October 19.
In December 2013, FC Barcelona announced an innovative inner shirt sponsor agreement with Intel. Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are not part of the new Sock Advertising agreement, while other clubs to wear the sock advertising are Betis, Espanyol, Rayo, Villareal and Malaga.
