New Cardiff City Crest Revealed

Welsh club Cardiff City this morning unveiled the new Cardiff City club emblem, set to be used from the 2015-16 season onwards.

The new Cardiff crest, which sees a restoration of prominence for the Bluebird, will be used for the Cardiff City 2015-16 Kits, which will include a return to the blue home kit.

This is the new Cardiff City club logo, to be used from the start of the 15-16 season.

Reverting the crest change introduced by controversial club owner Vincent Tan in 2012, the famous Bluebird returns to the center of the new Cardiff City crest, whereas the red Welsh dragon is now positioned at the bottom center.

The crest shape of the new Cardiff City logo is inspired by the 1927 FA Cup-winning team, which had a shielded Cardiff coat of arms on the shirt. The same shape was also used on more recent kits including the 1999 centenary and again between 2008 and 2012.

The 'Fire & Passion' banner is not present on the new Cardiff City logo, which only features the team name 'Cardiff City FC' in a typeface inspired by the one used in stadium signage at Cardiff City Stadium.
