Pepe Trains in Mystery Blackout Tongue Boots

Real Madrid defender Pepe laced up in a mystery black-out Prototype Boot in Friday's Real Madrid training session. The new blackout Pepe Prototype Cleats feature a remarkable fold-over tongue and are believed to be the next generation of the Umbro Speciali.

Pepe wears the Umbro Speciali Football Boot regularly, while he switched to the striking black-out boots with a traditional fold-over tongue in the last training session ahead of Real Madrid's La Liga match against Málaga. He joined Dani Carvajal, who gave us the first look at what is expected to be the Nike Tiempo Legend 6.

Pepe Reveals Mystery Blackout Soccer Boot

Close-up pictures of the mystery black-out Pepe 2015 Cleats, apparently based on the next generation of the classical Umbro Speciali.

The new black-out Umbro Speciali Pepe Soccer Cleat boasts a classical boot design with a low-cut silhouette and an eye-catching fold over tongue. In the past decade, the fold-over tongue became a dying breed as companies ditched the classical fold-over tongue to reduce the weight of their boots.

Interestingly, the left boot of Pepe's blackout features an even longer tongue than the right boot. This indicates that Umbro is still testing different concepts for the new generation of their heritage silo currently.

Usually, Pepe is one of very few players wearing the Umbro Speciali. Footy Headlines understands that the new mystery boot is indeed the new generation of the Umbro Speciali. In 2012, Umbro ditched the iconic tongue design of the Umbro Speciali with the release of the Umbro Speciali 3 Boots.

We will try to get our hands on better pictures of the classical black-out Pepe 2015 Soccer Cleats in the next few training sessions. What do you think Pepe was wearing in Friday's Real Madrid training session and the return of the tongue to the Umbro Speciali?
