Nike Reveals Mercurial CR7 Savage Beauty Design Sketches

Nike has shared some unique insight into the design process of the Nike Mercurial Cristiano Ronaldo "Savage Beauty" boots, in the form of original sketches and inspirational images. The newest Nike Mercurial CR7 soccer boots are available from today, October 29, 2015.

Released as the first chapter of a series of career-inspired football boots for Cristiano Ronaldo, the new Nike Mercurial Savage Beauty cleats take influence from where it all began, the volcanic island of Madeira where Ronaldo was born in 1985. Madeira's beauty translates into a stunning 'Lava' upper pattern, "one of the most intricate Nike has ever produced on a pair of boots."

For the final version, Nike opted for a lava-inspired look, whereas earlier sketches feature lava flows, eruptions and ash, among other motives. The Swoosh color was also experimented with by Nike, before choosing to go with a low-key white-and-black outlined tick.
