Blue Nike Mercurial Superfly Cristiano Ronaldo 2016 Natural Diamond Boots Released

Nike just launched the brand-new blue Nike Mercurial Superfly Cristiano Ronaldo Spring 2016 Boots. The Deep Royal Blue Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 Natural Diamond Soccer Shoe focuses on Ronaldo's move away from home as a child to pursue his dream of becoming a professional footballer, which he calls his most difficult part of the career so far.

Cristiano Ronaldo makes no secret of the ongoing effort his success requires despite his talent: "I'm always working hard in training and in the games. It's work to achieve the success," says Ronaldo.

The blue Nike Mercurial Superfly IV CR7 cleats are the second chapter of a series of seven Mercurial CR7 boots to be unveiled over the next few seasons. The boot's name, "Natural Diamond" acknowledges Ronaldo's natural ability but also how he crafted his game under pressure.

Based on the iconic silhouette of the Nike Mercurial Superfly IV, the newest Nike Cristiano Ronaldo signature boots feature a mostly blue upper, fading towards darker shades at the rear and boasting a bold, silver-metallic Swoosh at the lateral front. Cristiano Ronaldo's CR7 logo is present on the inner heel of the new Nike Mercurial Superfly CR soccer cleats in silver.

For the first time, Nike also textured the heel of a Mercurial for this boot. Designed to look rocky and rough, is represents the early years away from home when Ronaldo was refining his game to show the promise of the player he would become. As the boot transitions to the forefoot, it smoothens out, analogous again to Ronaldo's journey and development.

The blue Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 boots will be the last Nike Mercurial Cristiano Ronaldo boots to be based on the current generation of the Superfly. They feature a Flyknit upper with Flywire strings and a heightened Dynamic Fit collar for improved lockdown.

The new Nike Mercurial Superfly IV Cristiano Ronaldo soccer cleats retail at €285 and will be available beginning March 20 via the Nike Football App and beginning March 22 at all retailers including Nike.com. Nike also unveiled a low-cut Nike Mercurial Vapor X variant, as well as takedown and FootballX versions of the blue design.
