Juventus Legend Buffon Shows Off Utterly Strange Taped Socks

This is anything but an ordinary spot. Famous Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who has been playing for the Old Lady since he joined the club from Parma for a world-record goalkeeper's transfer fee in 2001, has been wearing a unique sock and tape construction in Wednesday's Serie A match against Hellas Verona that is not only quite strange (big thanks to @HT1991 for the spot).

Gianluigi Buffon Debuts Strange Tape and Sock Combination

Close-up picture of Buffon's one-of-a-kind taped socks.

While players usually just use tape for the ankle area, Gianluigi Buffon has brought the tape and socks game to a whole new level. The Italian legend used not only one tape, but put white tape around his socks on not less than five positions. And as if the white tape wouldn't be already enough, Buffon even used some black tape that can be seen on the lower part under the white tape.

Apart from the one-of-a-kind look of Buffon's socks, all other parts of Buffon's outfit were pretty standard. However, the second-most interesting thing might be his boots that were remarkably dirty.

A never-seen-before sock and tape construction from one of the oldest and most renowned players in the beautiful game. Will you try out Buffon's unique socks and tape combination? Even if not, please let us still know what you think about his odd construction in the comments section below.
