Heart of Midlothian 16-17 Home and Away Kits Released
Scottish team Heart of Midlothian this afternoon released the new Puma Hearts 2016-17 away shirt. Designed exclusively for the club by Puma, the new Hearts 2016-17 away shirt is a radical departure from the traditional maroon of the home strip, paying homage to the 5th Earl of Rosebery with a pink and yellow design.
Puma make the new Heart of Midlothian Kits for the second time following the signing of a kit deal with the Scottish club last year that replaced previous supplier Adidas.

The new Heart of Midlothian Puma 2016-2017 away strip boasts the Rosebery primrose yellow and pink colors to honor the Earl. The jersey, which features pink horizontal stripes across the front with a solid yellow back and shorts also feature an original style felt badge as well as an embroidered tag commemorating the Rosebery Challenge Cup (The cup was competed for by clubs under the jurisdiction of the East Scotland FA. Contested from 1882/83 to 1944/45, it was a charitable competition with Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and the Leith hospital as chief beneficiaries. The Charity Cup raised almost £25,000 for good causes, which would be the modern day equivalent of around one million pounds).
A keen racehorse owner and patron of football, the Earl became Prime Minister in 1894 and was also President of the Scottish Football Association and Honorary President of Hearts. His racing colors of primrose yellow and pink were worn by the Scottish national team on nine occasions between 1881 and 1951, most notably in 1900 when Scotland defeated England 4-1.
The Rosebery tribute Scotland jersey was also worn by Hearts' legend Bobby Walker in 1901. The new Hearts away jersey is a contemporary take on that iconic Scottish strip.
The new Heart of Midlothian 2016-17 home kit is already available to buy, while the new away strip will be available from August.
