Not Always Nike | Here is Sergio Busquets' Full Boot History

Last weekend, Sergio Busquets made his 400th match for Barcelona. And while he since then has made always all matches wearing Nike boots, he made his FC Barcelona first team debut with boots that are not made by the Swoosh. So let's take a look at Sergio Busquets' soccer cleat history.

Sergio Busquets Makes First Team Debut With Puma Boots

A product of Barcelona's youth system, Busquets surprisingly made his Barcelona debut wearing silver Puma King Exec football boots (kangaroo leather upper, released in 2007) and not cleats by Nike. However, after his first match as professional, Nike signed the rising defensive midfielder and gave him the Nike Tiempo Legend boot.

When Nike released the all-new Nike CTR football boot, Sergio Busquets immediately switched to Nike's control silo, a natural choice for the player who controls the game.

Nike Discontinues CTR Silo - Busquets Switches to Custom Magista Cleats

Ahead of the 2014 World Cup, Nike launched the revolutionary high-cut Nike Magista Obra soccer cleat. For the first time, Sergio Busquets was not totally happy with Nike's offering and opted for the low-cut, traditional Nike Magista Opus football boot.

Apart from that, it's interesting to note that Busquets wears not the standard edition of Nike's Magista soccer shoe, but one with a custom sole plate (Nike Tiempo Legend IV outsole).
