Goodbye, Legend | Lahm's Full Boot History

Update: Germany and Bayern Munich legend Philipp Lahm has announced that he will retire at the end of the current season. Let's take a look at his full boot history.

Philipp Lahm, Germany's captain before announcing his retirement from the national team and 2014 World Cup champion, celebrates his birthday today. We take a look at the boots worn by a player who played almost his entire career for the same club and with bots from the same brand.

Adidas for Bayern München and Germany, but Puma for VfB Stuttgart

Here are some of the boots Lahm wore until 2008.

Lahm, a product of Bayern München's youth system, started his professional career at VfB Stuttgart as he joined them on loan from Bayern for two years to make his first experiences in German Bundesliga. And as he was without a boot contract back then and Stuttgart was sponsored by Puma, he laced up in classic Puma King boots.

However, when playing for the German national team and Bayern München, Philipp Lahm used to wear Adidas' Predator boot, while he also laced up in Adidas' Copa Mundial, at east until the end of 2003. He would use the Predator until 2008.

Adidas Adipure Face

When Adidas launched the all-new Adidas Adipure silo in 2008, Philipp Lahm became a main face of the now-discontinued soccer cleat that was always popular among players and is still worn by Toni Kroos.

Adidas Ace Switch

Philipp Lahm wore the Adidas Adipure until the Three Stripes decided to discontinue their modern heritage boot silo, while he made the switch to the all-new Adidas Ace Kangaroo leather cleats as soon as Adidas launched their new control silo. He currently wears the black and golden Adidas Ace K-Leather Stellar Pack football boots.
