Outrageous Look - Bordeaux Sign Sweetcom Kit Sponsorship Deal

French Ligue 1 team Girondins Bordeaux has secured a new front sponsor until 2019 as French energy company Sweetcom becomes the new major partner of French soccer side Bordeaux with immediate effect. Bordeaux's shirts had been sponsored by Kia for ten years until Summer 2016, while their current-season kits were launched without a main sponsor with the club playing without a main sponsor in their league games.

Sweetcom Signs Bordeaux Kit Sponsorship Deal Until 2018-19

Sweetcom's logo will be on the front of Girondins Bordeaux's home jersey only.

Interestingly, Sweetcom's logo will appear on the front of the Ligue 1 club's home shirts and on the back of their away strips. Additionally, the energy group will also have a strong brand presence at Bordeaux's home stadium, the Matmut Atlantique.

Computer firm PSI had sponsored the club's shirts in the Coupe de la Ligue, France's knock-out cup competition for professional league clubs. French newspaper 20 Minutes reported that Kia was paying Bordeaux between €2 and €3 million per year over a ten-year period, while the financial details of the new two and a half-year deal with Sweetcom are not known yet.

"Girondins Bordeaux is particularly proud that Sweetcom, a company established in New Aquitaine, has chosen our club to accompany it in its development on a national scale," said Jean Louis Triaud, president of Bordeaux.
