Boot Watch #019 | Pre-Season Training & Friendly Games

Welcome back to our boot watch! International duties are finally done and with the transfer window still open for business, all eyes are now on clubs as their pre-season activities begin.

Some important boot spots were already featured individually on the website in the past days, including Verratti's switch to Nike (Nike Hypervenom Phantom III DF 'Lock in Let Loose'), Mbappé's contract extension with Nike and Locatelli's reveal of the next-gen Nike Magista Opus.

Jesus Vallejo | Nike Tiempo Legend VI

The reveal of Real Madrid's newest signing provided an excellent boot and kit match that deserved a place in this week's listing. Young Jesus Vallejo came out in Madrid's fresh kit and threw on his pair of Anti-Clog Tiempo Legends to create a great white and light blue combination. The blue might not be the same shade on boots and kit, but for items from Adidas and Nike, they do look very clean together. (A nice slide tackle on fresh grass would completely ruin everything)

Samuel Piette | Adidas Copa Mundial

Well I suppose not all international duties are over. With the Gold Cup being disputed, I knew some good spots would come up, and here is an amazing one. Canada's Samuel Piette is spotted wearing a blacked out and modified pair of Mundial's, but that's not even the best part. Look carefully and I'm almost sure French Guiana's player Rudy Evans is also wearing a pair of blacked out Mundial's!

Reiss Nelson | Adidas Glitch

The Glitch really seems to be making it's way onto more and more professional feet. maybe we'll finally see it used on the big stage by even bigger Adidas players. For now, it's Arsenal's Reis Nelson who slipped the most recent glitch skin at his training session in England.

Roberto Firmino | Adidas Nemeziz 17+

Sometime's boot spots are not extremely exciting, and they end up being exactly what you expected to be. This is the case with Firmino, who exactly like Adidas marketed, is sporting the laceless version of their Nemeziz line in his Liverpool training sessions.

Sergej Savic and Stefan De Vrij | Customized Mercurial Superfly & Tiempo Legend V

Spots like this are exactly what these articles are made for, not one but two good spots at the same time! Those blacked out Superfly's are probably the White/Pink that he decided to black out for contract purposes. And those Tiempos are pure class, great looking and performing boot.

Ciro Immobile | Adidas Nemeziz 17+

This italian talent used to lace up in the X16+ boot before, guess he made his switch to the Nemeziz silo, or Adidas decided for him, not sure but still a good spotting.

Luciano Spalletti | Nike Tiempo Legend VI

I love coach spotting, and naturally you're going to see them lace up in the leather model of whichever brand sponsors their team. In this case, it's exactly that, Spalletti put on the Legend VI instead of the new Nike Premier, good choice nonetheless.

Rolando Mandragora | Nike Tiempo Legend VII

With majority of players rolling into the launch colorway of the new Tiempo VII, I thought it was still classy of Rolando to stick in the blackouts. For all i know he's also having contract issues but still a very clean blackout. The ripping on the heel and the stud pattern confirm it as the Legend VII.

Simon Murray | Nike Mercurial Superfly V

When Nike released this silver/white and green colorway, they intended it to be for a select few of elites on their roster. This man however decided to wait it out and get himself a pair later on, and i must say they do suit his kit pretty well.

Ronaldinho | Nike Tiempo Legend VII

Nothing seems more perfect to see, a legendary man wearing the iconic cleats that he's been true to for so long. Sliding on the new Legend VII was a instinct for Ronaldinho and we all know he got the job done with or without them.

Edgar Davids | Nike Hypervenom Phinish NJR x Jordan

Edgar Davids always supplies good spotting when he shows up for charity matches. Playing just alongside Ronaldinho, he decided to put on a rather fancy pair of cleats. The second edition of Neymar and Jordan's cleat collaboration, in the form of the low cut Phinish model. I've seen him sport the first black edition so it's no surprise to see him in this color now.
