Not Happy With Jako's Quality | Rubin Kazan Signs New Balance Kit Deal

Update: Rubin Kazan today announced that they signed a deal with New Balance, replacing previous shirt supplier Jako after just one year. The first-ever New Balance Rubin Kazan kits will be released on September 17.

Richard Wright, New Balance Global Football General Manager said, "New Balance, as a brand, is growing globally and plans to become one of the top three athletic brands in the world. New Balance performance products (footwear, apparel and equipment) are utilized by top athletes in Athletics, Football, Tennis, Cricket, Baseball, Ice Hockey and other sports. The brand is also associated with renowned Football Clubs such as: Liverpool FC, Celtic FC, FC Porto, Sevilla FC and others. We believe that a technical sponsorship contract with FC Rubin Kazan will be the first step in the development of the New Balance football culture in Russia and will also contribute into further global brand expansion in Football."

New Balance Announce Rubin Kazan Kit Deal

Rubin Kazan was not happy with the quality of the German brand Jako.

Vineet Arora, Board Member of MFK Jamilco said, "Jamilco is proud to be the Exclusive Distributor of New Balance in Russia, Kazakhstan, Belorussia and Armenia. Jamilco, in line with New Balance’s global strategy, is working towards making the brand one of the top three Sports Brands in Russia by 2020. We are excited and happy to announce the Technical Sponsorship of FC Rubin in Russia with effect from September 2017.

This is our first step towards building and supporting New Balance in the sporting arena in Russia. I am confident that New Balance’s association with FC Rubin will be beneficial for both parties and sincerely hope that Rubin will achieve success in the Russian Championship. We wish FC Rubin the very best for the forthcoming football season."

Rustam Sayakhov, General Manager of FC Rubin Kazan added, "FC Rubin Kazan is happy to work with such a strong global sports brand such as New Balance. There have been several changes in the club recently, including in the technical sponsorship area. Every detail matters when ambitious targets are set, and the club needs to win. We are confident that, with the new structure and with the high quality of New Balance match and training kits, we will have every chance to meet our goals in the coming football season.

Russian newspaper Business Gazeta reports that Rubin Kazan will leave Jako after just one season to switch to New Balance. It would be New Balance's first major kit deal with a Russian football club.

New Balance To Become New Rubin Kit Supplier

New Balance does not sponsor a big team in Russia yet.

The newspaper reports that there are two reasons why the Russian club wants to leave Jako. First, there were questions about the quality of the form. On pictures it can be seen that advertising comes of the kit (Although there claim likely to club employees who were unable to make a normal application). The overall level of performance of the Germans was quite high, however. Second, New Balance distribution in Russia is much better than the one of Jako.

Business Gazeta also reports that the first-ever New Balance Rubin Kazan home kit will feature the club's traditional maroon color, that the away jersey will be white and that the third kit won't be "a copy of the kit of Brazilian team Fluminense".
