SURPRISE: Roma to Sign Reebok Kit Deal?

Reebok could gazump New Balance to become the new AS Roma kit maker next season, replacing Nike.

Despite earlier reports about New Balance's deal with the club being close to completion, Corriere dello Sport report that the club were finally unsatisfied with the offer and have now turned their attention to Reebok.

This is pretty awkward, not only because Reebok is almost non-existent in football today. Its owner, Adidas, is also actively looking to sell the brand - for less than it paid back in 2005.

According to Football Kit Archive, Bolton and Kön were the last major clubs to be sponsored by Reebok. It would be quite a shock to see Roma going with the brand.

As per the report, the idea could be to find a one-year deal with Reebok quickly, before deciding on the long-term later.

Also covering this story, Calcio e Finanza state that the option of producing the 2021-22 kit in-house, similar to 2013-14, was discarded recently.

In other news, it looks like Toyota, a company with connections to the new owners, could well replace Hyundai as Roma's official car sponsor.

A decision on the Roma 21-22 technical sponsor is set to be taken in the "first months of 2021."
