16 April 2021: De Ligt Trains in Adidas X Ghosted Football Boots

Update: De Ligt has been spotted with the new Adidas X Ghosted football boots in Juventus training this week. This could mean that he will not wear his patched Adidas X 18 football boots in the Serie A match against Napoli Next weekend, but it is also well possible that he will return to his beloved old boots for Sunday's match.

Matthijs De Ligt Trains in Adidas X.1 Ghosted Boots

De Ligt's boots feature some personalization for the Dutchman, usually added by Adidas.

In August 2020, we reported that Juventus center back Matthijs De Ligt patched up his Adidas X 18.1 soccer shoes. Almost half a year later, the DefenDer is still wearing the same old pair of Adidas X football boots.

Matthijs De Ligt Re-Patches Adidas X 18.1 Boots

Instead of switching to new Adidas X boots or buying a brand-new pair of the Adidas X 18.1, De Ligt is repairing his old pair of boots again and again. This can be seen as the patch had changed over time.

In fact, the patch was first black, while he later patched his boots with white and silver stuff.

We do not expect Matthijs De Ligt to switch boots anytime soon, even though we think that it is certain his beloved Adidas X 18.1 boots will ultimately fall apart anytime.
