Atlético Madrid 21-22 Fourth Kit Released - Modified After Initial Unveiling

Update: As spotted by @hendocfc, the Atlético Madrid 21-22 fourth shirt was actually modified before it was finally launched yesterday. Compared to the initial unveiling back in the summer, the final version of the Atletico 4th jersey, which gets its debut in the Copa del Rey tonight, features a different collar - a v-shaped one rather than a crew-neck.

What's also interesting to see is that, just a day after launch, the shirt appears to have already been sold out on the official online store. This shows that the club's supporters are highly appreciative of the return of the old logo, despite of how basic the shirt might otherwise be.

Atlético Madrid's new 2021-22 fourth jersey was released last night. It is made by Nike but appears to be made by the club in-house.

The Atlético Madrid 21-22 fourth uniform celebrates the 75th anniversary of the change of name to Club Atlético de Madrid. On Jan. 1, 1947, Club Atlético-Aviación changed their name to Club Atlético de Madrid. The team's crest also evolved, as the wings that represented the Spanish aviation disappeared.

The new Atlético de Madrid 2021-22 fourth uniform will be debuted in the Copa del Rey round of 16 match against Real Sociedad, which will be played on Feb. 19 or 20 at the Reale Arena.

Atletico Madrid 21-22 Fourth Kit

This is the new Nike Atlético Madrid fourth shirt for 2021-2022.

The Nike Atlético Madrid 2021-22 fourth shirt has a very simple look in red with a white Swoosh.

Earlier pictures, unveiled by the club prior to the full launch, showed the fourth shirt to be based directly on the cheap 'Park VII' teamwear jersey, which has a retail price of just €20. But that version was seemingly dropped in the end.

The red color is inspired by two historic moments in the club’s history: the first leg of the European Cup semi-final – which was played on April 10, 1974 against Celtic in Glasgow – and the 1985 Copa del Rey final that we won against Athletic Club.

Instead of the new club logo, the Nike Atletico 21-22 fourth shirt features the fans' popular old crest.

In the center of the chest is the slogan "75 años honrando tu nombre" (75 years honoring your name).
