Australia Release Retro Shirt Collection

Australia have followed up the release of their sky blue centenary retro shirt with a collection of more recent remakes, all as part of the centenary celebrations.

Australia have selected five kits stretching from 1980 to 1993 and reproduced the designs with some minor adjustments. Most notably, there is no manufacturer branding, as the original shirts were produced by Umbro, Adidas and Kingroo, while the remakes are a venture by Football Australia themselves without a collaborating brand.

They also opted to use the current Australia badge rather than era-appropriate versions, giving the shirts a touch more modernity, with a centenary jocktag also appearing above the hemline. As well as the jerseys, two pairs of retro remake shorts have also been released. Check out all the items below.

The selection of shirts provide an interesting snapshot of kit design evolution across the 80s and early 90s and will likely be very popular with Aussie fans in the lead up to the World Cup.
