2023 Golden Boy Brands Battle - Nike Lead with 12 of 25 Players
The 25 finalists of the 2023 Golden Boy trophy have been announced this week. Footy Headlines take a look at the boot brands worn by the players, in cooperation with Football Boots DB.
20 players of the 2023 Golden Boy Nominees were decided via stats, while 5 players got Wild Cards (including Barcelona's Yamal & Real Madrid's Güler).
2023 Golden Boy Nominees - Football Boot Brand Battle
The Golden Boy Award, established by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport, recognizes the best football player under the age of 21 in Europe. This year's shortlist features Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham (Adidas), who is the favorite to win, as well as other youngsters like Manchester United's Rasmus Højlund (Nike) and Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala (Nike).
Nike supply almost 50%
Nike lead the battle for the 2023 Golden Boy Award (13 players), followed by Adidas (9 players) and Puma (4 players).
Previous winners of the prestigious accolade include Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland. Last year's award was picked up by Barcelona midfielder Gavi.
The winner of the award will be announced on Dec. 4 at a ceremony in Turin.
