Bayern Munich Pay Homage to Franz Beckenbauer With Retro Pre-numbers Shirt & Kit Inscription

For yesterday's match against Hoffenheim, Bayern München wore a pre-match shirt with the retro number 5 and a description on the kit to pay tribute to the legendary Franz Beckenbauer.

The Bayern Munich players wore long-sleeved pre-match shirts with the retro number 5 on the back, paying tribute to Franz Beckenbauer's iconic shirt number.

In addition, the Bayern München kit also has the description "Danke Franz" which means "Thank you Franz" in the middle of the chest.

The kits will be signed after the final whistle and, like the warm-up shirts and tracksuits, will be auctioned off on the FC Bayern online store from 17 January. All proceeds will go to the Franz Beckenbauer Foundation.

Before kick-off, both teams observed a minute's silence for Beckenbauer. A video tribute to "Kaiser" was shown on the big screen at the Allianz Arena, while a large banner in the center circle paid tribute to Franz.
