Dortmund To Get All-New 21-22 Cup Kit From Puma

German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund will certainly get a newly designed 21-22 cup kit from Puma.

On Wednesday night, Puma presented the new third kits for all of its European teams, just not the one of Dortmund. BVB's cup kit was supposed to have the streamlined third design.

In Puma's 'The Show' third kit launch was that Mönchengladbach was described as the team that is closest to Puma's HQ in Herzogenaurach, despite the city of Dortmund being around 50 km close to Puma's HQ. This was pretty strange but only consequent as BVB was not part of the launch.

Dortmund not included: Gladbach was the team closest to Puma's HQ in Puma's kit release show

New BVB Cup Jersey With Changed Design To Be Released in September

This was the updated but apparently also scrapped kit.

According to BVB insider Aro10 (@AroooBVB), the leaked in-store picture of BVB's 21-22 Cup kit shows a ditched design. He says that "in September comes out a new Cup jersey with changed design!".

BVB wore the old Cup kit in the DFB Pokal 1. round - but that would have always been the case as the match was played before the planned launch date of the new Cup kit

Nothing about how the changed Dortmund 2021-22 Cup kit will look like is known yet.

Puma might be inspired by 1990s for their new kit

We could imagine it to feature a black/yellow stripes design or a design inspired by the hi-vis yellow Nike BVB jerseys of the 1990s.

In May 2021, after the original jersey was leaked, BVB announced on Twitter that "the criticism has been received" and that the "leaked jersey does not look like it will".

Dear #BVB fans, your criticism of the Cup jersey for the new season has arrived. The leaked jersey does not look like it will. So please have a little patience.
