Update: Graphic artist Agron Designs has created a digital image of the new Barcelona 17-18 home shirt, based on Mundo Deportivo's sketch and Nike's AeroSwift template, allowing us to have a better look at the unique design.
Sports daily Mundo Deportivo, usually well-informed in all things Barça, this week published a first sketch of what could end up to be the new Nike FC Barcelona home kit for the 2017-18 season.
Barcelona 17-18 Home KitThis is the mock-up MD created for the upcoming Barcelona 2017-2018 home shirt.
According to the report, the Barcelona 2017-18 jersey sketch was passed to the club two months ago, around 14 months before it will be officially launched in summer 2017. After this season's Barcelona shirt introduced a hooped design for the very first time, the Barcelona 17-18 shirt is set to follow the 2016-17 one in featuring traditional stripes.
But while the 2016-17 Barcelona shirt comes with classic stripes, the new Barcelona 17-18 kit reportedly introduces a fading gradient on the front, with the stripes decreasing in width from the center to the sides. In Mundo Deportivo's sketch of the Barcelona 2017-18 shirt, the blue and red stripes are also aligned off-center, while the sleeves are colored in solid blue.
In any case, the Barcelona supporters appear to be not too fond of the likely Barcelona 2017-2018 home shirt. 85% voted they didn't like it in a poll on MD's website.
It remains to be seen whether this is in fact the final design and how the Barcelona 2017-18 jersey will look in person, but what are your first thoughts on the probable "fading stripes" look? Drop us a line below.
