Four weeks ago, when Nike presented their new Summer 2014 Football Innovations, the Nike Mercurial FlyLite Guard was firstly showcased. Today, all details of the new Nike Mercurial FlyLite Guard were officially unveiled. The Nike Mercurial FlyLite Guard features a revolutionary design and is built for speed, worn by players such as Neymar.
Nike Mercurial FlyLite Shin Guard Clear / Volt / Black
The Nike Mercurial FlyLite Shin Guards provide premium protection with a barley-there feel. To reach the aim of creating a barley-there feel, the Mercurial FlyLite Guard features a specially engineered shock system at the back of the guard.
Players such as Neymar recognize the need for a guard and want that protection, but they tell us they want it without sacrifice, said Martin Lotti. So we sought to give them just that – our best protection without sacrificing, speed, fit or comfort.
Replacing the traditional foam backing with a new webbed shock system, the Nike Mercurial FlyLite Shin Guards provide more consistent impact absorption hit after hit, according to Nike. Nike removed excess materials, while the webbed shock system come into contact with the outer shell to help absorb and disperse impact.

The honeycomb structure of the Nike Mercurial FlyLite Shin Guards also offers optimal airflow and breathability. Producing cutting-edge technology, Nike also utilized 3D printing technology to experiment with hundreds of impact patterns.
The Nike Mercurial FlyLite Shin Guards will be available at Nike.com from July 1 and retail at €45.
