Black / Volt Nike Hypervenom Phinish 2016 Boots Revealed

Nike today officially released an understated, almost entirely black colorway of the second-gen Nike Hypervenom Phinish cleats as part of its new Pitch Dark pack. Just like the previously released Euro 2016 paint job, the black and Volt Nike Hypervenom Phinish cleats feature the icon honeycomb-patterned upper of the original Hypervenom.

Whereas the standard Nike Hypervenom Phinish football boots are worn by the likes of Gonzalo Higuaín, Romelu Lukaku and Wayne Rooney, it's not expected that many star players will lace up in the black colorway from next month.

This image shows the new black Nike Hypervenom Phinish soccer cleat from the Nike Pitch Dark collection.

Almost entirely black, the Nike Hypervenom Phinish 'Black / Volt' soccer boots feature a subtly offset zig-zag pattern on the outside, while the Nike Swooshes at the rear and toe box are outlined in Volt. The sole plate is also completely black, with the Volt-colored Swoosh being the sole exception.

Nike introduced the all-new Nike Hypervenom Phinish with the launch of the second generation of the Nike Hypervenom in summer 2016, slotting in as the second most expensive version overall and the premiere low-cut one. Made for ultimate control and lockdown, the Black / Volt Nike Hypervenom Phinish boots feature Flywire strings, a textured NikeSkin upper with a honeycomb-like structure and a tongue-less design.

The black sole plate of the black-Volt Nike Hypervenom Phinish 2016 soccer cleats comes with conical studs for rotational agility. While the materials and stud configuration are identical to the ones used for the outsole of the Nike Hypervenom Phantom 2, the sole plate of the Nike Hypervenom Phinish boots comes without the top model's remarkable graphic pattern.

Forming part of Nike's almost all-black Pitch Dark pack, the Nike Hypervenom Phinish soccer cleats in Black & Volt are available to buy from July 5, 2016 for 200 USD (200 Euro, 160 GBP).
