Nike Mercurial Superfly Cristiano Ronaldo Chapter 3 Discovery Boots Released
The striking Nike Mercurial Superfly V Cristiano Ronaldo Chapter 3 - Discovery boots celebrate the Real Madrid superstar's game for Sporting against Manchester United, often described as key in his transfer to the English club in August 2003. The dark green and Volt Nike Mercurial Superfly Cristiano Ronaldo 2016-2017 Cleats were officially released on November 7, 2016.
Nike started a new series of Cristiano Ronaldo signature boots, celebrating crucial stages of the Real Madrid star's career, last October. The green and yellow Nike Mercurial Superfly V CR7 football boots mark the third chapter and follow up on 'Savage Beauty' and 'Natural Diamond'. Ronaldo will wear the Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 Chapter 3 boots in Real Madrid's big matches against Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona. They are also known as the Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 Discovery soccer cleats.
Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016-2017 Cristiano Ronaldo - Seaweed / Hasta / Volt
This is the first Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 2016-2017 Boot, named Discovery and inspired by the colors of Sporting's kit.
Combining the main colors dark green ('Seaweed') and Volt with white applications, the first Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016-17 CR7 Discovery Soccer Cleat is designed to make a bold statement on the pitch. The lateral side of the cleat is mainly dark green, while the instep fades from Volt at the front to the dark green Dynamic Fit collar.
On the heel area of the 'Seaweed & Volt' Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016-17 CR7 Discovery Boots is written the date of the aforementioned friendly between Sporting and Manchester United in Lisbon's Estádio José Alvalade on August 6, 2003. Last but not least, a pattern of reflective dots graces the upper and laces of the green Nike Mercurial Superfly Cristiano Ronaldo Chapter 3 soccer cleats.
On top of that, the sockliner of the Nike Mercurial Superfly 5 Cristiano Ronaldo Chapter 3 - Discovery cleats shows an aerial view of Sporting Lisbon's José Alvalade stadium, where Cristiano Ronaldo made his first steps in professional football and was spotted by Manchester United's scouts.
From a tech point of view, the first Next-Gen Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016-2017 Cristiano Ronaldo Discovery Boots are the same as the regular edition of the speed boots. However, it's expected that Cristiano Ronaldo will again receive a version of the boots with a lower Dynamic Fit collar.
The Seaweed CR7 Chapter 3 Discovery Nike Mercurial Superfly 2016-2017 Football Boots are available from November 7, 2016, at select retailers for a slightly higher price than the standard Nike Mercurial Superfly colorways.

MLS Players Wear Their National Flags on Kits Ahead of 2026 World Cup
Major League Soccer last weekend hosted a dedicated "Farewell Week" to send off its international stars. To mark the occasion, all clubs across the domestic league took to the pitch wearing specially customized kits that honored the various nations represented within their squads.
The most prominent visual update to the MLS uniforms was the addition of official national flags printed directly on the chest for all players and coaching staff. In a highly thoughtful and personalized touch, the league provided specialized double-flag variations for athletes holding dual citizenship. This bespoke detail allowed these specific players to proudly represent both their current homelands and their heritage simultaneously before joining their respective national team camps.
Beyond the chest graphics, teams also sported a unique set of squad numbers on the back of their shirts, featuring a custom pattern made up of the flags of all 48 countries participating in this summer's World Cup.
What do you think of this customized flag concept for the MLS World Cup Farewell Week? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
