Leaked: Adidas to Launch Ace, Messi and X AG Boots
As we revealed some time ago, the recently launched Adidas Speed of Light pack will include the brand's first-ever dedicated AG (artificial grass) football boots since introducing its new lineup of Ace, Messi and X.
When Adidas initially released the new Ace, Messi and X cleats in 2015, it only offered a mixed 'FG / AG' solution that the brand claimed worked on both types of grounds.
Adidas AG Boots
Designed to be used on artificial-grass (AG) surfaces, the all-new Adidas Ace, Messi and X soccer cleats all feature the same sole plate which is visibly based on the outsole shape of the regular Adidas X FG boots. But the former's larger, half-conical studs are replaced by what one would expect from an AG plate: much more and generally shorter, conical studs. The medial arch, aimed to provide more stability, stays the same.
Set to be available in the next days, the new AG sole plate is expected to be available not only for the Adidas 16+ boots, but also the likes of Ace 16.1, Messi 16.1 and X 16.1. In terms of pricing, they should be the same as the other sole variants.
