With Adidas having re-released the Adidas Predator Precision football boots today, we compare the 2017 remake and the 2000 original. The Adidas Predator Precision 2017 remake is much less different to the original boot than the Adidas Predator Mania Champagne remake to the original boot, which we compared some months ago.
Adidas Predator Precision - 2017 Remake vs 2000 Original
The upper of the Adidas Predator Precision 2017 boots appear to stay very close to the original Predator. The upper of the Adidas Predator Precision seems to be made of premium Kangaroo leather, just as the original boot released in 2000.
The shape, construction and size of the tongue is slightly different between the two models. Another difference is the color of the Adidas logo on the heel area and the height of the heel tab.
Most importantly, the sole plate and the studs of the Adidas Predator Precision 2017 remake and the original is totally different. The Adidas Predator Precision 2017 remake cleats use the current Adidas Ace FG one, which is much lighter than the original Traxion plate.

The Adidas Predator Precision originally launched in the year 2000 and is known for its iconic fold-over tongue and distinctive rubber grip elements. Alonso, who has a long-standing affinity for the Predator silo, opted for this modern remake of the classic boot for his managerial debut on the London club's training ground. His footwear choice also neatly aligns with the branding of Chelsea's 26-27 training collection, which was launched earlier this month with a "train with precision" theme.
