Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Sportswear Brand A-Z Shut Down After Losses Of 22 Million USD
On June 7 2016, Zlatan Ibrahimovic launched his own clothing brand, called A-Z. Now, after two years of brackish loss, it has been announced that the clothing label is being scrapped.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic's was a joint venture between Varner, a Norwegian clothing giant, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. A-Z's products offering included sportswear with classy designs, retailing at similar prices as those of Adidas and Nike.
According to Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri, the company returned a total of SEK 210 million (USD 22 million) in two years. It was a joined decision between Ibrahimovic and the Norwegian "Varner Group" to discontinue the sportswear brand.
"Petter Varner and Zlatan Ibrahimovic agree to terminate the cooperation on AZ. Despite solid growth in 2017, the European investment in sportswear became expensive, " writes Varner Group in a press release, according to Dagens Industri .
