Nike and Adidas Dominate: UEFA Champions League 18-19 Brand Battle
The UEFA Champions League returns later today and tomorrow with the first match day of the group stages. Let's take a look at which brands supply the most of the 32 teams that take part.
As basically always with these 'Brand Battles', Adidas and Nike dominate proceedings, and not just lightly. Combined, the 'big two' have 19 of the 32 teams under contract, with Umbro following in third place with just three teams.
Macron, New Balance and Puma have two teams each, with the last of these three likely coming as a surprise after the acquisitions of Arsenal, Milan and Olympique Marseille. However, only Dortmund and Viktoria Plzen will wear Puma kits this Champions League season.
Completing the ranks are Capelli Sport, Kappa, Lotto and Under Armour, who all supply one team each.
