Insane - Marathon Peru Kit Fades During Game Because Of Sweat
In early September 2018, Marathon Sports, an Ecuador-based brand, presented its first-ever Peru home kit, taking over the contract from Umbro. Now quality issues with the Marathon Sports Peru 2018-19 home kit came to light.
In the match of the Peruvian National Team against Chile (Peru won that match 3-0), the fans of Peru noticed that the red color of the kit faded during the match because of the sweat of the players. Therefore, the Peru kit strated to return red on the white part, especially next to the collar.
Confronted with the observing of the fans, Marathon Sport released a statement about the quality issues with the new Peru 2018-2019 kit.
Christopher Legua, manager of Marathon Sports, expressed his arguments about what happened red and white shirts.
"It is not a matter of quality, it is a perception, that explaining person by person is complicated. The images have been seen all over the world and that can not be changed anymore, as it is said colloquially, it came out and touched you," he said.
The representative also said that Marathon "delivers the best products". In addition, he said that they will improve to show that the sports brand that you see in Peru is of great quality. "Like any company, we are going to improve. If we give 100% today, but we are willing to give 200%," he said.
Peru wore their red away kit in the match against the US national team.
