Here Is Why All France Players Wore White Armband vs Moldova
Update: Are you watching France's Euro qualifier against Moldova? If so, you'll have likely noticed all of France's players wearing what looks like a standard captain armband. However, it's actually the FFF's way of showing the Bleuet de France - it's a similar concept to the Poppy in England.
Check out our article from exactly a year ago, when the Bleuet was on display in a friendly against Uruguay, below:
If you watched the friendly between France and Uruguay today (or saw images of Mbappe's injury), you might have noticed that Mbappe and all other France players wore a white arm band. Here is why.
France Players Wear White Arm Band Of Bleuet de France
France's players wore a white arm band with the symbol of the Bleuet de France, a National symbol in France of Memory and Solidarity, assistance to veterans, wounded soldiers, widows, Pupils of the Nation and victims of terrorist attacks. It is a symbol to remmeber those who were affected by conflicts such as the World War 1.
Bleuet de France
In fact, the symbol was already present on the kits in the Ligue 1 some days ago.
English Premier League teams traditionally remember the end of World War I and those who served for the country with a red poppy.
