Spotted: Pickford Uses Water Bottle To Predict Penalties

If you watched last week's England matches against the USA and Croatia, you might have noticed that something was written on the water bottle of England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Pickford's notes in the match against Croatia featured different Croatia players, including Croatia's number 10 Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic (number 4). The notes on the bottle start with the number of the respective player and show off several penalty characteristics of each player, e.g. where they usually shoot and if they wait for the goalkeeper to move ("e.g. low right for Andrej Kramaric).

Jordan Pickford did not have to save a penalty in the 3-0 victory in a friendly against the United States.

It is nothing new that goalkeepers have such notes. The trick became popular when German goalkeeper Jens Lehmann had notes written on a note in the 2006 World Cup penalty shootout against Argentina.
