After 26 Years - Legea Replaces Diadora As Serie A Referee Kit Supplier

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC )and Legea yesterday announced that they have reached an agreement for the technical sponsorship and official supply of the sportswear of the Italian Referee Association starting from the 2019-2020 football season and lasting three years. Legea replaces Diadora, who had been making the Serie A referee jersey since more than 20 years.

Legea Becomes Serie A Referee Kit Supplier

Legea, a historical Italian brand of sportswear, will provide the referee kits, the sportswear training and the referee boots as part of a special collection dedicated to the A.I.A (Italian Referee Association).

According to the press statement, "the partnership is based on the common desire to guarantee quality products at affordable prices and easy to find on the market thanks to the widespread distribution network of Legea, promoting uniformity of clothing of the FIGC arbitration class, from Series A to the local sections.

"We are very satisfied - comments the President of the FIGC Gabriele Gravina - that Legea has chosen to invest in the Italian Arbitration Association, one of the excellences of Italian football. We are sure that the whole system will benefit from this partnership, from the top to the bottom".

"For Legea it is a great opportunity to sponsor the Italian referees - said the President of the AIA, Marcello Nicchi - made available by the Federation, which has undertaken new formulas of partnership, with resources to be allocated to the world of arbitration. We expect a lot, but we are convinced that we will be rewarded for our expectations".

"We are honoured and proud" - comments Luigi Franco Acanfora, Sole Director, Legea S.p.A. - "to have been chosen by the FIGC and the AIA. Accompanying the Italian referees and entering the world of arbitration is a historic achievement for our company as well as the definitive consecration of the Legea brand on the national and international scene. We are ready to face this new challenge and we provide AIA and FIGC with our expertise for the pursuit of joint objectives".
