Lionel Messi won his sixth Ballon d'Or on Monday night. With this he's eclipsed Cristiano Ronaldo to become the sole record winner of the most prestigious - Adidas so far has not unveiled a special-edition boot to celebrate this feat, however.
This stands in stark contrast to Nike, who have created one-off boots to celebrate the recent Ballon d'Or wins of Ronaldo and Modric as well as Megan Rapinoe's in the women's category this year.

Inspired by Messi's record-breaking Ballon d'Or win, famous Adidas boot collector Josh Tossell has created his own version based on the Adidas Nemeziz 19.1 boot model.

Tossell took inspiration from earlier Adidas Ballon d'Or boots, which are "usually pretty low key."
The boots have an all-black upper with tonal logos and a subtly gold sole plate. The years of Messi's six Ballon d'or wins are represented on the sides of the shoe - with the 10 highlighted in white as its Messi's shirt number.
Also present on the side of the shoe are the Argentinian flag, the names of Messi's three sons and a very understated Messi logo.
