Christian Eriksen Chooses Shirt Number 24 For Inter Milan - Not A Tribute To Kobe Bryant

Christian Eriksen joined Inter Milan from Tottenham Hotspur this week. With the singing, it was also announced that the Danish midfielder will wear the No. 24 shirt at Inter.

Report: Eriksen Already Chose No. 24 Before Bryant’s Tragic Passing

Christian Eriksen picked the number 24 at his new club. However, while most would have assumed this was a tribute to the late Kobe Bryant, who wore that number for the LA Lakers, Sky Italia says that was not becasue of that.

Sky Italia claim Eriksen had chosen the number before Bryant’s tragic passing this week, and the reason behind his choice is not one of homage, but a last attempt to throw shade at his former club. According to them, Eriksen has chosen 24 as he considers Inter ‘a step ahead’ of Tottenham and an ‘improvement’ in his career and thus he’s chosen his new shirt number to represent that. From 23 to 24.

This is the first time the former Ajax attacking midfielder has worn the number 24 shirt in his career having previously worn the numbers 10, 51, 8 and 23.
