Carbon Fiber Sole Plate: Next-Gen Adidas X Ghosted - Name + Features List + Colorways Leaked

Update: Burnley U23 player Lewis Richardson has given us the best look at the Adidas X+ Ghosted 2020-2021 football boots on his Snapchat. The Adidas X Ghosted is set for a release in July 2020 in a white colorway, while there will be also a blackout paint job as part of the Adidas 2020-2021 Black pack.

Update: Following up on our earlier post, we can confirm that the next generation of the Adidas X, which will make its debut at Euro 2020 this summer, will NOT be called X 20.

Instead, Adidas has opted to change the naming scheme a bit, with the two top-tier variants of the boot instead named "Adidas X Ghosted+" and "Adidas X Ghosted.1". We have also obtained a full feature list of the next-gen Adidas X boots, which promise a major update compared to the current one, including a first-ever carbon fiber sole plate on an Adidas boot.

'Ghosted' is a fitting name for a silo that's marketed towards fast players and that offers a lightweight, no-nonsense approach to football boots. It's also exciting to see Adidas adopt a different naming scheme after five years of the X.

This news follows a similar move that will occur with the upcoming Adidas Predator 20, which will officially be called "Adidas Predator Mutator 20" - not to be confused with the collection of the same name!
