Hoffenheim & Bundesliga To Promote "Corona-Warn-App" On Kits

On Tuesday, the official application to help stop the spread of the coronavirus was launched in Germany. Now TSG Hoffenheim announced that they and all other Bundesliga teams will promote the app against the coronavirus on their jerseys.

The "Corona-Warn-App" smartphone app was developed by SAP, the main sponsor and kit sponsor of TSG Hoffenheim, in cooperation with Deutsche Telekom to contain the coronavirus pandemic by order of the German federal government.

The app is designed to protect against a further spread of Covid-19 by documenting the "digital handshake" of two smartphones. The app makes it possible to inform contact persons especially quickly if someone has become infected with the coronavirus. Particularly rapid information about a potential infection is currently the best way to contain the coronavirus.

Bundesliga Clubs To Have Special Sleeve Badge To Promote Coronavirus Warning App

In the home game against 1. FC Union Berlin (Saturday 20 June, 15:30 CET), TSG's main sponsor, SAP, will vacate its the place on the kit to promote an extremely important social issue. The Hoffenheim first team will take to the pitch with the logo of the "Corona-Warn-App" and the hashtag "#IchAppMit" on the chest of their shirts.

"We are very proud that we, as a club, can make a special contribution to raising awareness about this socially important innovation," said TSG managing director Dr. Peter Görlich. "We are true to our social responsibility and want to help achieve this goal using our reach as a football club. The more people who use the Corona-Warn-App, the more effective its use will be."

"We are all convinced that this app will help improve healthcare," said Christian Klein, CEO of SAP SE. "This country, this society has so far dealt with the most serious crisis since the end of the Second World War impressively. We are all fighting to keep it that way," added Klein. "With the Corona-Warn-App, we can save human lives."

All 36 DFL clubs in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 will advertise the Corona-Warn-App on the sleeves of their kit during the final two match days of this season. The sleeve badge has not been showcased yet.
