Top 10 - Best 20-21 Second Division Kits

Following up our series of 2020-21 football kit rankings, we had the idea to have a look at second divisions in particular.
While our Top 10 20-21 kits article focused mostly on jerseys released in the 'Top 5 Leagues', for this 2nd division ranking we scouted the 2nd tiers of England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

10 Reggiana Away
The Reggiana 20-21 away kit introduces a clean and classic design that combines the club colors with the Italian flag.
9 Millwall Third
Although there was a bit of controversy about the design possibly being copied from a 2019 concept, the Millwall 20-21 third kit is absolutely outstanding and boasts one of most unique designs we've seen this season.
8 Karlsruhe Home
Macron is quite likely the most diverse brand out there right now, giving much more focus to the different partner teams than an overall brand aesthetic. This season's KSC home shirt is another fine example for that.
7 Bristol City Home
Hummel's new Bristol home kit is as classy as it gets, with the subtle jacquard striping on the front and the smart piping on the collar and cuffs just offering enough interest to not make it overly simple.
6 Würzburg Away
The Würzburg 20-21 away kit might not be the most eye-catching design, but the details are definitely there. Jako is a brand that's flying a bit under the radar anyway in my opinion, and they've produced a number of remarkable designs - it probably doesn't help their case that they are not really active outside of Germany.
5 Rayo Vallecano Home
Produced last minute after Kelme canceled their agreement with the club due to Covid, the Umbro Rayo Vallecano 20-21 home kit is definitely a stunner. Its clean aesthetic gets amplified by the accentuated collar and cuffs, the latter featuring a smart Double Diamond pattern.
The fact that is was created at very short notice might not be visible in the design, but it's still not available to buy at this day.
4 Venezia Away
It's almost impossible to go wrong with Venezia's awesome color scheme of orange, black and green, and the 2020-21 kit is no exception here.
3 Norwich City Third
An equally bold and fresh look, the Norwich 20-21 third kit just had to make this list.
2 Nottingham Forest Third
We've seen a lot of patterned jerseys recently and in the 20-21 season in particular, but the Nottingham Forest 20-21 third kit manages to stand out with its unique leaf design - and the colorway is not too shabby, either.
1 Osnabrück Home
Among a collection of pattern-based shirt designs this year from Puma, this one stands out in particular to me. This is even though this pattern was reserved for "lower tier" teams sponsored by the brand and not used by the likes of Manchester City or AC Milan. It looks especially stunning in this purple and white combination donned by Bundesliga 2 outfit Osnabrück.

Premier League Match Ball Spotted in German 9th Tier for Niklas Süle Debut
Former Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Germany defender Niklas Süle recently made headlines by stepping onto the pitch for German amateur side SV Tiefenbach in the Kreisliga. Having stepped away from the professional game at the end of the 25-26 season, the 30-year-old made his debut for the local ninth-tier club in Baden-Württemberg alongside close friends. While Süle managed to score a headed goal in a 7-2 defeat against SG Kirchardt, we quickly spotted an unexpected detail: the match was played with the official Nike Premier League 24-25 Third ball.
Seeing a Premier League match ball in the lower divisions of German regional football is an unusual and amusing sight, as amateur clubs across the country usually rely on non-league or, also, Bundesliga balls.
The distinctive Nike Flight Premier League design inspired by the Total 90 design, complete with its signature aerodynamic groove pattern and Premier League graphics, stood out prominently on the district league pitch.
New Hull City Signing Brings Back Memories of Iconic Vennegoor of Hesselink Number 29 Kit Font Arc
Following Hull City's signing of French midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath, kit enthusiasts and football fans quickly noticed a similarity to one of the most iconic shirt prints in Premier League history. Gourna-Douath was unveiled holding his new black and amber striped 26-27 home kit featuring his hyphenated surname curved in a deep horseshoe arc around the number 29.
The visual immediately drew viral comparisons to Dutch striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, who famously wore the exact same squad number 29 for Hull City during the 2009-10 campaign. Vennegoor of Hesselink's 20-letter surname required an extreme rainbow arch on the back of his kit to fit around the Premier League typeface, creating an enduring aesthetic memory from the classic Barclays era.
The Hull City kit does not require a box at the back, unlike it might have been in the UEFA Champions League.
Djed Spence to Wear Number 99 at Inter Milan
Following his permanent transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Inter Milan, English wing-back Djed Spence has officially chosen the number 99 shirt for the 26-27 campaign. The 26-year-old completed his move to the Nerazzurri in a deal worth approximately €30 million, signing a five-year contract that keeps him at the club until June 2031.
High squad numbers remain a classic hallmark of Serie A, and Spence's selection of number 99 sees him continue that tradition in Milan.
