Debut Against Manchester United: Custom Puma Future 6.1 James Maddison Boots Unveiled

Update: As expected, Maddison debuted his new football boots today against Manchester United (2-2). It is somewhat odd that there really is denim fabric applied to the upper. Otherwise, his new shoes looked great.

Puma today revealed the new Future 6.1 football boots in 'white / multicolour' that will be worn by midfielder James Maddison tomorrow in a clash of giants against Manchester United and are designed to stand out.

Maddison, who has a contract with German sportswear brand Puma, is one of their most important assets in the Premier League. Maddison's new Future 6.1 football boots were customized by @afrokickz, who usually transform popular sneakers into one-of-a-kind shoes.

Originally white, the new Puma Future 6.1 James Maddison soccer boots feature a lot of different coloured elements in red, yellow, green and light blue as a homage to his former clubs Aberdeen, Coventry and Norwich. The colours of Leicester City are present with his shirt number 10.

There are several other details such as Maddison's catch phrase 'Be yourself, everybody else is taken' and a denim effect that was applied to the upper where the lace closure is.

“I just wanted it to be personal, I always wanted a boot that I could design,” Maddison explained. “I always wanted the main colour of the boot to be white as that’s when I feel at my best and I walk out on pitch ready to go.”

The new Future 6.1 cleats from Puma are identical to the first edition looking at tech.
