New Angers Logo Unveiled - "Our Diamond"

Angers SCO of Ligue 1 presented their new club badge on Wednesday evening. The new design, which was carried out by local agency Welko will be used from the start of the 2021-22 season.

The new logo introduces a diamond shape and was unveiled under the slogan "Notre Diamant" (Our Diamond)

Angers started consultations with four different agencies more than a year ago, specifically asking them to "not go crazy like they did for FC Nantes and Juventus" according to Morgan Paltier, the club's Director of Sales and Marketing.

Two designs were pre-selected by the club and then presented to the supporters' groups, who then had the final decision.

Peltier went on to explain that "at a time when the temptation is to cold minimalism, sometimes to the detriment of the heritage it carries in it, we have chosen a coat of arms that draws on what has always been the strength of the SCO: its unity."
