New Sadio Mane Signature Boots Released - Liverpool Forward Extends Contract With New Balance
Liverpool's Senegalese striker Sadio Mane has penned a new long-term deal with American sporting goods company New Balance.
Sadio Mane's Custom New Balance 6+ 'Hunt For More'
In celebration of Mane's contract extension with New Balance, the firm creates a customised version for the Liverpool FC forward. Design-wise, it is based on the current Lime Glo/Citrus Punch colourway but with several changes.
Gone are the orange chevron patterns, the upper of Mane's custom boots are pretty much clean with only the NB logo and small orange details on the laces. The reason for this is that instead of the upper that is found on the regular V6+, Mane has instead chosen the upper of the older V6 Pro. Also, unlike the one-piece design of the regular V6+, the unique 'Hunt For More' boots seem to have a separate upper layer and tongue + collar one.
At the heel of the boots is a new special insignia design by New Balance for Mane with creative input from the player himself. The soleplate of V6+ is still kept on the customised version with seven chevon studs on the front and four in the back. The orange chevron patterns are also gone. In their place is a striking lion graphic.
Mane happily talking about his extension: "Joining New Balance has been great for me, I have achieved a lot, I always try to work hard to do the best for my teammates and it’s a dream to score and create goals that win trophies. I’m proud to have worked with the brand on a custom, unique boot. I’m still hungry for success and hopefully, there’s lots more to come from me.”
“We couldn’t be happier that Sadio has chosen to extend his relationship with us" - said Andrew McGarty, New Balance Senior Sports Marketing Manager. "Since debuting New Balance boots in 2018, Sadio has worn the brand in some of the greatest moments in recent football history as he; won the 2019 African Player of the Year, won a UEFA Champions League trophy, won a Premier League trophy, finished as the Premier League joint-golden boot winner in 2018 and scored at the 2018 FIFA World Cup."
"We’re looking forward to building on our relationship with Sadio and taking it to new, exciting levels.”
Despite New Balance's claim that Mane would wear the customised 6+ 'Hunt For More' against Southampton last Saturday, he instead laced up in non-graphic pair. The design looks to be the same, just without the lion insignia on the heel and graphic on the soleplate.
