Insane Charly Liga MX Third Kits Released - Inspired By Lucha Libre

Yesterday, there were several kit launches in Mexico's Liga MX. Querétaro, Tijuana, Santos Laguna, Pachuca, Atlas and Club León, all supplied by Charly, each received a new third shirt for the 2021-22 season.

Charly Liga MX Third Kits

The theme for the Charly Liga MX third shirts is "Lucha Libre", a Mexican freestyle wrestling sport that became popular in the early 20th century. Different colored masks were introduced to differentiate between the fighters. Over time, the designs on the masks became far more colorful and intricate, evoking animals, heroes and gods.

Charly decided to create an ambitious cross-over between the two popular Mexican sports, in the form of lucha libre football jerseys.

Atlas FC

The colorful Atlas 2021-22 third shirt is mainly yellow, inspired by posters advertising lucha libre matches. It has red, blue and purple writing all over the front, back and sleeves, as well as black logos and trim.

Santos Laguna

Laguna's 21-22 third shirt has a white base, on top of which there is a light green graphic design. A large lucha libre mask fills most of the front of the jersey. All other details and logos appear in black.

Club León

The Club León 2021-22 third jersey combines dark green and black with a bright shade of green. Multiple lucha libre masks are printed all over the shirt, with the central ones on the front and back surrounded by several pink stars.

CF Pachuca

Pachuca's 21-22 third shirt features a light blue base and is covered in pink Tuzos posters. Once again the logos and trim appear in black.

Querétaro

Utilizing a light blue and white vertical striped design, the Querétaro 2021-22 third jersey has multiple lucha libre masks running down the stripes. Rooster feathers are placed in the vertical gaps between the masks.

Club Tijuana

Club Tijuana received the most sleek design out of all the shirts. Their 21-22 third jersey is mainly black, with a large, sublte graphic of an X-shaped lucha libre mask design. The red collar and sleeve cuffs round off an amazing look.
