Fake Adidas Japan Manga Shirt Being Sold, Based on Concept Design
The counterfeit Japan kit boasts a unique design with scenes of famous Manga series.
The fakes are based on a concept from April 2021
It was shared on Twitter as the new "Japan 2022 kit", but this is not true.
The Japan Manga kit is a counterfeit of a concept from graphic designer Enzio Pellizzari (@ziovisuals). He created it in April 2021.
"It's been several weeks since I have first seen this shirt on different sites. Obviously, they have taken my creation. I have nothing to do with the production of this shirt. About a month ago, I was sent several messages on Instagram to point it out".
I have nothing to do with the production of this shirt
"Initially, I just wanted to make a jersey of Japan," says Enzio Pellizzari. "It's always interesting to add something original. Manga are rooted in Japanese culture, I thought that mixing this universe with soccer could make a beautiful rendering. So successful that it even inspires counterfeiters..."
We have no info on the actual Adidas Japan (2022 World Cup) kits.
In 2018, Adidas released a special Japan kit with Tsubasa numbers.
