Nike Sign Match Ball Deal with Women's Serie A - 22-23 Ball Revealed

Nike's 15 season run as provider of match balls to Serie A ended this year, with Puma taking over, but Nike have now begun a similar deal with the newly-professionalised Serie A Femminile, the top flight of women's football in Italy.

Nike Reveal First Serie A Femminile Ball

The news was announced by the Italian FA on Thursday, with Nike's first match ball for the league revealed on the same day. The ball used is the Nike Flight, which is also used in the Premier League. The 22-23 Serie A Femminile version is white with an orange and navy graphic wrapping around it. Tech-wise, it is identical to the Premier League match ball.

The deal is between Nike and the Divisione Calcio Femminile, so the ball will also be used in the women's Serie B, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa. The 22-23 season marks the first season of the women's Serie A as a professional league, having been semi-pro up until earlier this summer.

Nike have placed greater focus on the women's game over the last few years, creating many beautiful bespoke kits for their women's teams as well as increasing the female presence in their marketing campaigns, so this latest deal is in line with that strategy.
