Adidas Release "2023" Products For Elite Teams With Old Logo
Adidas have an inconsistency because of the change in their logo, it will soon become obvious.
Adidas 22-23 "Second Half" Elite Team Products All Have Old Adidas Performance Logo
This and next month, Adidas will release new products for the Elite Teams, to be worn from 2023 ("second half of 22-23 season"). While this has been the case for several years, in 2022-2023 things are quite strange.
With the launch of the 2022 World Cup kits, Adidas practically replaced the old Adidas Performance logo with the new "Icon" (Three Stripes only) logo. But now, Adidas release new products with the old logos.
Arsenal and all other Elite Teams get the brand-new reversible anthem jacket but with the old logo. The reversible anthem jacket neve existed with the old logo - it is a whole new product.
The new collections are technical "22-23 stuff"
Adidas Arsenal 22-23 "2023" Collection
There is one main reason for Adidas to have the "old" logo on 2023 stuff. It fits better with the club's 22-23 kits, which will not change during the season.
What is bad for Adidas is that practically surely more than a billion people have seen the new Adidas logo and now might be wondering why teams have still the old one in (the first half of) 2023.
Many people, especially average viewers, will be confused
Adidas did not communicate anything officially about the logo change this year. It was relatively quietly announced to investors in March 2021 as part of the "Own the Game" strategy.
Of course, all the Adidas 2023-2024 kits will have the new Adidas logo (without the Adidas text and minor changes to the Three Stripes icon).
