Back in 2022, Sounders had announced that they were undergoing a "brand evolution" in preparation for the club's 50th anniversary in 2024. The changes will include a new crest and associated marks. The aim is to honor the club's history while establishing a strong foundation for the future, according to owner Adrian Hanauer.
The process has involved extensive input from fans and the community, with an emphasis on preserving the club's history and heritage dating back to 1974. Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer Taylor Graham stated that they have heard from the community that the Sounders don't need reinvention but should embrace their history fully.
