Update: Spain has debuted the Adidas 2006 Teamgeist remake football in the UEFA Nations League match against the Netherlands. However, Spain did not use the OG version. Instead, they used an alternative version with the original design but the current tech of Adidas high-end match balls. This second version is NOT available to buy.

The Adidas 2006 World Cup Teamgeist remake ball is virtually a 1-to-1 remake of the original ball.

The Teamgeist was revolutionary when it debuted at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. Unlike traditional 32-panel balls, Teamgeist featured just 14 thermally bonded panels. However, it did not really work out. The ball was known for its inconsistent flight and was hated by goalkeepers.

Its name, "Teamgeist", meaning "team spirit" in German, reflected the ethos of that World Cup—emphasizing unity and collective strength.

The Adidas Teamgeist launched on Thursday, 20 March 2025. The launch followed the 2024 re-release of the Roteiro Euro 2004 ball, keeping with the trend of reviving legendary footballs from past tournaments. The Adidas 2025 Teamgeist remake ball is priced in line with current high-end Adidas match balls - 150 euros.

Indeed, the Teamgeist is a rare collector's item today, also because of its knuckleball feature. You will have to pay 400 euros upwards for a brand-new ball - the re-release impacts the reseller market.
