September 2025 gave us a mix of eye-catching drops, and while some shirts impressed, others have sparked plenty of debate for all the wrong reasons. Footy Headlines has selected 12 designs for the Worst Kit of the Month poll.
Worst Football Kit of September 2025
Among the nominees, we see Sassuolo’s marble-style green pattern, Borussia Dortmund’s fluorescent Puma design with the unfitting red/white Vodafone branding, and Empoli’s chocolate-and-blue Kappa shirt.
Elsewhere, Mainz presented a geometric red-and-white design, while Inter’s deep navy-orange combination for the T90 kit divided opinion. Atletico’s blue third with extremely large Riyadh Air, Lyon’s heavily lined grey third shirt, and Lille’s purple graphic 4th effort have all drawn criticism.
What is certainly the most hideous shirt is the Oktoberfest kit of the US club Indy Eleven.
September might not be the biggest launch month, but it delivered plenty of controversial designs to argue over.
