Update - Apr 11, 2026 Major League Soccer club Colorado Rapids have officially announced that they will undergo a crest overhaul. However, the team will retain both its historic name and signature colors.
The decision follows a fan feedback campaign called the "One Club, One Legacy" platform. After reviewing over 5,000 responses from supporters, the Rapids concluded that while the name and the unique burgundy primary color are beloved, the current badge needs to be modernized. Fans specifically noted that the current shield design lacks elements that truly represent the "Rapids" moniker.
To develop the new visual identity, the Colorado Rapids have partnered with design studio ModestWorks and soccer-specific agency Name & Number. While the club is committed to building its brand for the next 30 years, an exact release date for the new logo has not yet been announced.

Dec 27, 2025: Colorado Rapids to Change Logo?: The Colorado Rapids have launched a fan survey to explore a potential rebrand, seeking input from supporters on the club's visual identity.
Colorado Rapids Launch "One Club, One Legacy" Fan Survey Amid Rebrand Speculation
The "One Club, One Legacy" survey asks fans about various aspects of the club's branding, though Chief Business Officer Hailey Durmer stressed that nothing has been decided. The club is working with Monigle and Name & Number, the agencies involved in Seattle Sounders' recent refresh. Any changes would not take effect before 2027 due to Adidas kit timelines.
Durmer emphasized the importance of fan research in determining whether a rebrand should happen at all. The survey focuses on the club's visual identity, with additional feedback opportunities planned throughout the next year or two. If supporters indicate they want to keep the current branding unchanged, that option remains on the table.
The Rapids have struggled for visibility in Denver's crowded sports market. The club's recent Headwaters secondary kit featuring Colorado state flag elements and the Original Green throwback third kit were well received by fans.
