Adidas Changed Liverpool Kit Collar Design Last Minute
- Kit Design Change: Adidas altered the Liverpool 26-27 home kit's collar and sleeve cuff design at the last minute.
- Color Scheme Adjustment: The original prototype featured white-heavy accents on the collar and cuffs, but the final version has red-dominant accents.
- Production Constraints: Adidas seemingly made the design change so late that they had to Photoshop the final colors onto images of the prototype for the official launch.
Adidas officially launched the Liverpool 26-27 home kit just two days ago. However, upon closer inspection of the release, we have quickly noticed that the brand made a significant last-minute alteration to the design of the collar and sleeve cuffs.
Liverpool 26-27 Home Kit: Prototype vs Final Design
The final version of the Adidas Liverpool 26-27 home kit features a thick red collar and matching red sleeve cuffs, both finished with a subtle white trim. This creates a very cohesive look that blends seamlessly with the shirt's primary red base.
However, this was not the original plan. Earlier prototypes of the kit featured the exact opposite color blocking: a predominantly white collar and white sleeve cuffs, detailed with a thin red trim.
It appears that Adidas or the club had a late change of heart, ultimately scrapping the white-heavy accents in favor of the red-dominant final look that made it to retail.
The decision was seemingly made so late in the production process that Adidas didn't even have time to arrange a new photoshoot with the actual physical final product.
If you look closely at the official launch imagery, it is evident that Adidas used the photographs of the original prototype and simply Photoshopped the colors of the collar and cuffs to match the updated final specifications.
