Exclusive: Adidas to Bring Back Bespoke Goalkeeper Kits for Clubs in 2027-28 Season

  • Return of Bespoke Goalkeeper Kits: Adidas is exclusively confirmed to bring back custom-designed goalkeeper kits for their club teams, departing from generic catalog designs.
  • Implementation in 2027-28 Season: This reintroduction of unique goalkeeper kit designs for clubs will officially begin in the 2027-28 football season.
  • Expansion Following Prior Successes: The move follows a successful initiative with bespoke designs for national teams at the 2026 World Cup and a limited club rollout in the 2026-27 season.

Footy Headlines can exclusively leak that Adidas is set to officially bring back bespoke designs for club goalkeeper kits starting in the 2027-28 season.

Bespoke Adidas 2027-28 Goalkeeper Kits

The new bespoke Adidas 27-28 club goalkeeper shirts will likely be based on the new Tiro 27 Competition goalkeeper template. Instead of standard catalog colorways, elite teams will receive unique, custom-designed patterns tailored specifically to their club's identity.

This move follows a successful initiative by Adidas during the recent 2026 World Cup, where the brand brought back custom, bespoke goalkeeper designs for their top-tier national teams.

In the 2026-27 season, Adidas only provided this special bespoke treatment to two teams: Club America and Liverpool. Meanwhile, the rest of the brand's club portfolio had to settle for streamlined, generic template designs.

That restriction will finally change in the 2027-28 season, expanding the custom treatment to a much wider array of top clubs across Europe and the rest of the world.

A Return to 90s Glory?

The reintroduction of bespoke goalkeeper shirts has the kit community buzzing with excitement. Many are hoping this shift will bring back the era of truly iconic, statement-making designs, reminiscent of the legendary and wildly bold Adidas goalkeeper kits seen throughout the late 1990s.

Are you excited to see Adidas finally bringing back bespoke goalkeeper kits for their clubs? Let us know in the comments below.

PSIS Semarang 26-27 Home Kit Released

Indonesian club PSIS Semarang and returning technical sponsor Riors have officially launched their new home kit for the 26-27 season. The release marks the resumption of the partnership between the brand and the Semarang-based club, following Riors' previous spell outfitting the team from 2017 to 2024.

The PSIS Semarang 26-27 home jersey features the club's traditional blue as its base color, enriched by a striking, detailed mythical beast illustration across the front torso. Contrasting vibrant red details highlight the V-neck collar insert, the sleeve cuff trims, and the side hem vents. The monochromatic treatment extends to the chest, where both the Riors logo and the PSIS crest with its championship star are rendered in vivid red.

Navy blue panels across the shoulders and collar frame the design, while a bespoke emblem sits inside the back neck. The full kit is completed with matching patterned blue shorts and navy socks with red detailing.

Lech Poznań 26-27 Third Kit Released

Macron and Polish champions Lech Poznań have officially presented their new third shirt for the 2026-27 campaign. Dubbed "Trzeci Wymiar" (Third Dimension), the strip introduces a cosmic, futuristic aesthetic that offers a distinct contrast to the club's traditional home and away designs.

The Macron Lech Poznań 26-27 third jersey features a striking silver base crafted from a metallic-finish fabric. A custom embossed geometric pattern repeating the letters of "LECH" runs vertically across the front. Sleek black accents detail the crew neck, sleeve cuffs, and shoulder piping, while the Macron Hero logo, Superbet sponsor, and club crest all appear in monochrome black, topped by a gold championship star.

Created in collaboration with Lech Poznań's head of graphic design Marcin Rajczak, the clean, space-inspired design is finished with matching silver shorts and socks. The full kit is available now via the club's official online store and at Enea Stadion.

Emiliano Martinez Takes Chelsea's Number 1 Shirt

Emi Martinez has officially switched from No. 26 to No. 1 at Chelsea after just one match. The Argentine goalkeeper wore No. 26 in Chelsea's 4-3 win over Brighton.

With Robert Sanchez joining Como on loan, the No. 1 shirt became available, allowing Martínez to make the switch. Chelsea is now the third professional club where Martinez has worn No. 1, following Getafe and Aston Villa.

In a nice gesture to supporters who had already purchased his previous shirt, Martinez will sign all official “Martinez 26” jerseys bought through Chelsea's Megastore or official website. Fans can bring their shirt and proof of purchase to Stamford Bridge before October 4.

Leicester City 26-27 Away Retro Collection Released

Expanding on their retro-inspired aesthetic for the season, Leicester City and Adidas have officially dropped a new lifestyle apparel collection under the Adidas Originals banner. Following the popular launch of their Trefoil away shirt earlier this summer, the latest range focuses on timeless club heritage infused with classic Three Stripes street style.

The standout piece of the collection is a royal blue long-sleeve jersey adorned with an intricate all-over diagonal jacquard pattern. Much like the 26-27 away kit, the piece prominently features the iconic Adidas Trefoil alongside Leicester's nostalgic 'Running Fox' crest, which famously adorned the club's shirts until 1992. Matching royal blue three stripes run down the shoulders and sleeves to complete the vintage look.

Alongside the long-sleeve shirt, the collection includes an archival blue t-shirt with a bold white chest stripe, classic track jackets, hoodies, and matching track pants. The full Leicester City x Adidas Originals range is available now at the club's official online store and the Foxes Fanstore at King Power Stadium.
